Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie
- 1 cup strawberry
- 1 cup pineapple (at least one of the fruits should be frozen for max tastiness)
- 1 cup pineapple juice
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Watermelon Pineapple Smoothie
- 2 cups watermelon
- 2 cups pineapple (at least one of the fruits should be frozen for max tastiness)
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- 2 Tbsp honey or sugar
- 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup water
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more water or honey, as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Sour Patch Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1/2 cup strawberry yogurt
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Honey, as needed
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk or a touch of honey, as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Drink Your Veggies Smoothie
- 1 apple
- 1 banana, frozen if possible
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup milk or orange juice
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk or juice as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 banana
- ½ cup milk
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk or a touch of honey as needed. Serves 1.
Go For Gold Smoothie
- 3 big handfuls spinach or kale
- 1 cup chopped pineapple
- 1 Tbsp each chia and flax seeds
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1/2 cup ice
- 2 Tbsp honey, to taste
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk or honey as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Cashew Green Smoothie
- 1 cup soaked cashews (in hot water for at least 1 hour, or overnight in room temp water)
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 2 Tbsp honey, to taste
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk or honey as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Pretty in Pink Beet Smoothie – February 11th, 2018
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 beet, peeled and chopped
- 1 apple, cored
- Juice from 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Carrot Sunshine Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen if possible
- 1 apple, unpeeled
- 3 carrots, peeled
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk as needed. Serves 1.
Back-On-The-Wagon Smoothie
- 1 banana (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 heaping cup fresh spinach
- 1 cup milk (any variety)
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Creamy Kiwi & Strawberry Smoothie
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 kiwi (I used a gold kiwi, but you can also use green)
- Juice of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup strawberry yogurt
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serves 1.
Banana Peel Smoothie
- 1 banana, washed with woody ends chopped off
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 2 Tbsp almond butter
- 1 Tbsp honey
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding more honey as needed to suit your taste. Serves 1.
Green Smoothie Shots
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 1 tsp lime or lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey
- Water as needed
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding water a few tablespoons at a time until you’re able to blend it well. Serves 1 to 2.
Blueberry Protein Smoothie
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup silken tofu
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup milk, any variety
- 1 Tbsp honey
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Taste and add more honey as needed. Serves 1.
Strawberry Limeade Smoothie
- 1 cup diet Sprite
- 1/2 cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup ice (may not need if using frozen berries)
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- Honey as needed
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Taste and add honey as needed. Serves 1.
Watermelon Mint Smoothie
- 2 cups watermelon, chilled or frozen
- 1/2 cup chilled green tea, more as needed
- 2 sprigs of mint, stems removed
- Honey as needed
Combine watermelon, tea, and mint in a blender until smooth. Taste and add honey as needed, adding more tea to reach a consistency to your liking (you may need a dash more if you used frozen watermelon). Serves 1 to 2.
Red White & Blue Smoothie Bowl
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- Toppings: fresh strawberries, blueberries, banana, shredded/shaved coconut, white chia seeds)
Combine banana, strawberries, and milk in a blender until smooth, adding a touch of honey if desired. Top with whatever red white and blue yums you have on hand (I used strawberries, blueberries, banana, coconut, and white chia seeds). Serves 1 to 2.
Peach Cobbler Smoothie
- 1 peach or nectarine
- 1 banana, previously chopped and frozen
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1/4 cup oats (instant or rolled)
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- Honey as needed
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding a touch of honey if desired. Serves 1.
Watermelon Rind Smoothie
- 1 cup watermelon flesh
- 1 cup watermelon rind
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding a touch of honey if desired. Serves 1 to 2.
Frozen Yogurt Parfait
- 1 1/2 cups plain Greek yogurt
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp orange juice
- Handful of walnuts (optionally toasted)
Freeze yogurt for 1 to 2 hours. Break into pieces and throw in the blender, blending until smooth. Spoon into dessert dishes, drizzling with honey and orange, and topping with walnuts. Serves 1 to 2.
Berry Cauliflower Smoothie
- 1 cup cauliflower
- 1 cup berries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Optionally add a bit of honey for sweetness. Serves 1 to 2.
Pina Colada Smoothie
- 2 cups chopped pineapple
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 2 cups coconut milk (from a carton, not a can)
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Optionally topping with shredded coconut and a maraschino cherry. Serves 1 to 2.
Blueberry Rhubarb Smoothie
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 cup rhubarb
- 1 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 Tbsp honey (or more as needed)
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Carrot Orange Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 2 mandarin oranges
- 1/4 cup chopped carrots
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Chia Yogurt Smoothie
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 2 Tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tsp honey
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Refresher Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup pomegranate arils (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup water
- 2 tsp honey
- 2 tsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp fresh mint
Blend all ingredients until smooth. If desired, strain out coarse pomegranate seeds. Serves 1 to 2.
Rise and Shine Smoothie
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 1 tsp fresh mint
- Honey as needed
Blend spinach and milk until smooth, then add the rest of the ingredients and continue blending until smooth. Add honey as needed to suit your tastes. Serves 1 to 2.
Tropical Turmeric Smoothie
- 1/2 cup chopped pineapple
- 1/2 cup chopped mango
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/2 cup milk (or more as needed)
- 1 tsp turmeric
- Honey, as needed
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk and/or a dash of honey as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Hot Chocolate Smoothie
- 1 cup milk (any variety)
- 1/2 cup rolled or instant oats
- 1 banana
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar (optional)
Heat milk in microwave or on stove until hot. Combine milk and the rest of the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve warm and with love. Serves 1.
Blueberry Green Tea Smoothie
- 1 cup green tea, chilled
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- Optional: honey, to taste
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding a touch of honey as needed to suit your taste. Serves 1.
Nutella Green Smoothie
- Handful of spinach
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 Tbsp Nutella
Blend spinach and milk until smooth, then add the rest of the ingredients and continue blending. Serves 1.
Black Forest Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 cup milk
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Destress Smoothie
- 1 cup packed fresh spinach
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety, I used coconut)
- 2 to 3 mandarine oranges
- 1/2 tsp fresh ginger
- Ice as desired (blend in or serve smoothie over ice)
Blend spinach and milk until smooth, then add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Creamy Tahini Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 Tbsp tahini
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1.
Turmeric Carrot Smoothie
- 1 carrot
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding a touch more milk or honey as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Tropikale Yogurt Smoothie
- 1 cup kale
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 kiwis
- 1 mandarin orange
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp honey
Blend kale and milk until smooth, then add the rest of the ingredients and continue blending, adding a touch more honey as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Strawberry Persimmon Smoothie
- 1 persimmon
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp fresh ginger
- Honey as needed
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding a touch more milk or honey as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
The Hangover Fixer Elixir
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 cup coconut water
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
Blend spinach and coconut water until smooth, then add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Carrot Mango Sunrise Smoothie
- 1 mango, peeled and roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped carrot
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- Honey as needed
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding a touch more milk or honey as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Pineapple Basil Green Smoothie
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 tsp chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
Blend spinach, basil, and milk until smooth. Add the pineapple and blend, adding a touch more milk if needed to get things moving. Serves 1 to 2.
Grape Green Smoothie
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 banana
- 1 cup frozen grapes
- 1 cup almond milk (or milk of our choice)
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk as needed to reach a nice consistency. If it’s not sweet enough for you, add a touch of honey. Serves 1 to 2.
Holiday Reset Smoothie
- 1 banana
- 1 cup frozen cranberries
- ½ cup spinach
- ½ cup orange juice
- 1 Tbsp flax seeds
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serve cold, optionally topped with cranberries and flax seeds. Serves 1 to 2.
Vanilla Tofu Smoothie
- 1/2 cup cubed silken tofu
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Soothing Banana Date Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 3 medjool dates
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: A spoonful of nut butter
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Apple Pie Smoothie Bowl
- 1 apple
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- Pinch of ground ginger
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth, adding a touch of milk or water if needed (should be thick!). Optionally top with banana, apples, shredded coconut, and puffed quinoa. Serves 1.
Gorilla Green Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 cup fresh spinach
- 1 cup kale
- 1 large carrot
- 2 Tbsp almonds
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 cup orange juice
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth, adding more juice as needed. Optionally top with chia seeds, shredded coconut, and dried fruit. Serves 1 to 2.
Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
- 1/4 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth, adding more milk as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Cinnamon Roll Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Combine everything but the honey and 1/2 tsp cinnamon until well blended, adding more milk as is necessary to reach a consistency to your liking.
Combine honey and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Drizzle into the glass then pour in the smoothie. Drizzle on top as well, or top with a dusting of ground cinnamon. Serves 1 to 2.
Chai Tea Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/4 cup coconut milk (from a can, not a carton)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp almonds
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 Tbsp chai tea leaves (from a bag of chai tea)
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth, adding more milk as needed. Serves 1 to 2.
Sweet Potato Pie Smoothie
- 1/2 cup mashed sweet potato
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk (any variety)
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice (or 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp ground ginger)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Handful of ice
- Optional: chopped and frozen banana
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Berry Cabbage Smoothie
- 1 cup chopped red cabbage
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Serves 1 to 2.
Go Go Goji Berry Smoothie
- 1/2 cup dried goji berries
- 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
- 1/4 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
- 1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
Blend all ingredients, adding more milk or a touch of water as needed to reach your desired consistency. Serves 1 to 2.
Ombre Spinach Smoothie
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 2 kiwis
- 1 cup packed fresh spinach
- 1/4 cup milk (can sub dairy-free)
- 1/2 to 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (or dairy-free alternative)
Blend the banana, kiwis, spinach, and milk until smooth. Pour 1/4 cup of the smoothie into a serving glass. Add 2 Tbsp Greek yogurt to the blender, blend, and carefully pour another 1/4 cup of the smoothie into the serving glass. Continue adding 2 Tbsp yogurt, blending, and layering in 1/4 cup until your glass is full (you may have a little leftover in the blender). Serves 1.
For perfect layering, use the same technique used for making Black & Tans (a.k.a. my favorite drink). Pour the smoothie over a spoon to break the fall of the pour. See what I mean here.
Thin Mint Smoothie
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 banana, chopped and frozen
- 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp chopped fresh mint
- 1 tsp honey
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more honey and milk as needed to reach a sweetness and consistency to your liking.
Spiced Plum Smoothie
- 1 cup chopped plums, fresh or frozen (about 2 fruits)
- 1 banana, frozen and sliced
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup milk (or more as needed)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more milk as needed to reach a consistency to your liking.
Zingy Parsley Smoothie
- 1 apple
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 banana, sliced and frozen
- 1/2 cup loosely packed parsley
- 1/2 inch knob of fresh ginger, peeled
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 to 3 Tbsp honey
- Ice and milk as needed
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding ice or milk as needed to reach a consistency and sweetness to your liking.
Blackberry Basil Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen blackberries
- 1 banana
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp chopped, packed basil
Blend all ingredients until smooth. (You can use frozen berries and a fresh banana, or fresh berries and a frozen banana, whatever works for you!)
Super Green Smoothie
- 1 cup packed fresh spinach
- 1 banana, sliced and frozen
- 1/4 cup chopped or slivered almonds
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more maple syrup as needed to suit your taste.
Lovely Lemon Smoothie
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- ¼ cup milk (any variety, I used almond milk)
- 1 banana, sliced and frozen
- 2 Tbsp honey (or to taste)
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of turmeric for color (optional)
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding a pinch of turmeric if you want for a nice pop of yellow sunshine!
Healthy Freakshake Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 fresh, peeled banana
- 1/2 cup milk (I used almond milk)
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 Tbsp honey
- Topping ideas: kiwi, berries, whipped cream, shaved coconut, banana (skwered on toothpicks or wooden chopsticks, or just thrown on top all crazy-like)
Blend strawberries, banana, milk, yogurt, and honey until smooth. Pour into a serving glass and top with whatever your heart desires. Make it wild, crazy, and delicious!
Pokemon Go Smoothie
- 1/2 cup brewed and chilled coffee
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 banana, sliced and frozen
- 2 Tbsp slivered almonds
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more honey as needed. Pour into a to-go glass and go catch ’em all!
Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup chopped and frozen watermelon
- 1 cup water
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 3 mint leaves
Blend all ingredients until smooth, adding more water and honey as needed to reach a consistency and taste to your liking.
Red White and Blue Smoothie
- Red: 1 cup frozen strawberries, ½ cup milk
- White: 1 banana, previously sliced and frozen, ¼ cup vanilla yogurt, ¼ cup slivered almonds, 2 Tbsp milk
- Blue: 1 cup frozen blueberries, ½ cup milk
- Blend the red ingredients, adding more milk if needed to reach a milkshake-like consistency. Taste and add a bit of honey if desired. Transfer to a glass, set in fridge, and rinse out blender.
- Blend white ingredients, adding more milk if needed to reach a similar consistency to the red smoothie. Transfer to a glass, set in fridge, and rinse out blender.
- Blend blue ingredients, adding more milk if needed to reach a similar consistency as the other two smoothies.
- Pour blue smoothie evenly into 2 large or 3 small serving glasses. Gently and slowly pour or spoon in white smoothie, then red smoothie.
- Optionally garnish with shredded coconut and berries.
Cherry Spinach Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1 frozen banana, sliced and frozen
- 1 cup packed spinach
- 1 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
Combine all ingredients in a blender, adding ice or more milk as necessary to reach a consistency to your liking.
Pineapple Carrot Smoothie
- 2 cups chopped pineapple
- 1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1/2 of a banana, previously sliced and frozen if possible
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- Ice as needed
Combine all ingredients in a blender, adding ice or more orange juice as necessary to reach a consistency to your liking.
Minty Grape Slushy
- 1 cup frozen red grapes
- 1/4 cups cold water
- 2 mint leaves
- 1 to 2 Tbsp honey
In a strong blender or food processor, combine grapes, water, and mint leaves. Taste slushy and add honey to suit your taste.
Mocha Morning Smoothie Bowl
- 2 bananas, previously sliced and frozen
- ½ cup coffee, chilled
- ¼ cup plain yogurt
- 1 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- Ice as needed
- Topping ideas: sliced banana, shaved chocolate, sliced almond or other nuts, chia seeds, rolled oats
Blend banana, coffee, yogurt, cocoa, and sugar until smooth, adding ice as needed to reach a nice, thick consistency. Top with whatever delicious additions you desire.
Pineapple Mango Smoothie
- 1 1/2 cup chopped mango, frozen if possible
- 1 1/2 cup pineapple chunks
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk
- Honey and ice as needed
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding ice or more milk to reach a consistency to your liking. Taste and add honey to sweeten as needed (depends on the ripeness of your fruit, I didn’t need to add any.)
Strawberry Rhubarb Smoothie
- 1 cup chopped and frozen rhubarb
- 1 cup chopped and frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 Tbsp honey
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding ice or milk to reach a consistency to your liking.
Soothing Banana Ginger Smoothie
- 1 banana, previously sliced and frozen
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 Tbsp grated ginger
- 1 Tbsp honey
- Milk as needed
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding ice or more milk to reach a consistency to your liking.
Carrot Cake Smoothie
- 1 carrot
- 1 banana, previously sliced and frozen
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk (any variety)
- 1 to 2 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- Optional topping: shaved or shredded coconut
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding ice or more milk to reach a consistency to your liking. Optionally top with coconut, shredded carrot, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Strawberry Green Smoothie Bowl
- 1 cup strawberries, frozen
- 1 pear
- 2 cups packed spinach
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1 tbsp honey
- Topping ideas: shredded coconut, seeds, sliced fresh fruit, berries, edible flowers
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth (should be a bit thicker than your average smoothie). Pour into a bowl and top with whatever your heart desires!
Strawberry Sunrise Smoothie
- 1 cup strawberries, frozen
- 3 mandarine oranges
- 1 banana, sliced and frozen
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth, adding ice as needed.

- 1 banana, sliced and frozen
- 1 pear, chopped
- 1 packed cup spinach, frozen if possible
- 1 cup milk (any variety)

Apple Oat Smoothie – March 13, 2016
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 7 ice cubes
Microwave oats and water for 30 seconds, then combine everything in a blender until smooth, adding more ice or milk to reach a consistency to your liking (smoothie will thicken as it sits).
Sneaky Spinach Breakfast Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1/2 cup low-fat Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup packed fresh spinach
- 1 Tbsp honey
- Ice as needed
Blend well. Add ice to reach a consistency of your liking. Top with fresh berries, a sprinkle of oats, and a dollop of yogurt.
Purple Power Smoothie
- 1/8 to 1/4 of a head of purple cabbage (less if you’re not a huge fan of cabbage!)
- 1 cup (250g) blueberries, frozen if possible
- 1 banana, sliced and frozen if possible
- 1 cup milk (any variety, I used almond)
- 1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
- 2 Tbsp honey
- Ice as needed
Blend well. Add ice to reach a consistency of your liking. If it’s too cabbage-y for your liking add a bit more yogurt and honey.
Avocado Green Smoothie
- 1/2 avocado
- 2 cups (100 g) packed spinach, frozen if possible
- 1/2 pear
- 1 banana, frozen if possible
- 1 Tbsp honey or sugar (or more to taste)
- Ice as needed
Blend well. Add ice to reach a consistency of your liking.
Hello Yellow Smoothie
- 1 cup (190 g) chopped pineapple
- 1 cup (175 g) chopped mango
- 1 banana, peeled, chopped, and frozen if possible
- 1/2 cup (60 mL) light coconut milk
- Ice as needed
Blend well. Add ice to reach a consistency of your liking.
Power Orange Smoothie
- 2 large carrots, peeled and roughly chopped, frozen 30 minutes ahead of time if possible
- 2 large oranges, peeled
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 cup (118 mL) milk
- Ice as needed
Blend well, adding more honey to taste. Add ice to reach a consistency of your liking.
Berry Beet Smoothie
- 1 cup (200 g) diced cooked beets*
- 1 cup (170 g) frozen red berries
- 1/2 pear (about 170 g)
- 1/2 cup (113 g) almond milk (or whatever you have)
- 1 to 2 Tbsp (20 to 40 g) honey or agave nectar
Blend well, adding more milk and/or honey to taste.
*Trim, peel, and chop 1 to 2 red beets into 1/2 inch cubes. Drizzle with 1 Tbsp water and place in an aluminum foil pouch. Cook for 50 minutes at 375 degrees F (190 C), until fork tender. Allow beets to cool before using.
